Dr. Islam Hussein is a virologist. He earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK. He did his postdoctoral training at the US National Institutes of Health and Kansas University Medical Center. He then moved to take a position as a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Currently, he is a Senior Scientist at Microbiotix, a biotech company specialized in antimicrobial drug discovery. His research aims at discovering novel antiviral drugs for treating several viral infections.
