in this Lesson:
Biosphere)
Part of Earth where all the forms oflife exist, and it represents a vast integrated system:
• Extending from the depths of oceans to the highest mountain peaks, passing through
( encompasing) land and air .
• Including all the living organisms on Earth and the environments where they live .
• Interacting (affecting and affected) in all forms of life with the other Earth's spheres.
The relationship of the biosphere with the other Earth's spheres
*The biosphere is closely connected to the other spheres that make up planet Earth.
It does not function in isolation, but relies on them for the continuation and balance of life.
Living organisms that form the biosphere interact constantly with atmosphere,
hydrosphere and lithosphere, where :
• Atmosphere -----------------{•)
It supplies essential gases such as oxygen (02

required for respiration and carbon dioxide (C02
)
required for photosynthesis process.

Provides the living organisms with water necessary
for all the vital processes.
Lithosphere
It provides mineral elements through the soil, upon
which plants depend for their growth and stability.

biosphere and the other Earth's spheres as follows
1. Plant during
its life
Plant absorbs water and mineral salts from the soil (hydrosphere and
lithosphere) and carbon dioxide from air (atmosphere), using the energy
of the Sun to produce :
- Food that enables it to grow within the biosphere.
- Water vapor (atmosphere) to be a part of water cycle (hydrosphere) in nature.
- Oxygen that is released to air (atmosphere).
